When I was a little girl, I pictured my first home having a white picket fence and a lush green lawn, with daffodils and neatly trimmed hedges.

These days, there are so many great options when it comes to fencing - not only does it provide security to your yard, it defines the space and adds great curb appeal!
From modern wood, horizontally slatted fencing, to decorative panels, vinyl, iron, and more - there are so many ways to get creative and personalize your home. Here are some of my favorites fences from the web!
You can't go wrong with wood - I'd say this is probably the most versatile option; however, keep in mind it's higher maintenance to keep it looking like new...

Mixing materials can be a great idea, offering even more options, such as the wood and hog wire one above, or the wood and galvanized panels below. It's a great way to save money, too!

Metal fencing has come a long way - it's not just black wrought iron anymore. Now you can choose from sleek aluminum panels, to modern privacy screens, in addition to traditional iron fencing:

Vinyl fencing is also a great option, especially if you're in a harsher environment such as the beach or in the mountains. Can you say zero maintenance?? Also, vinyl comes in multiple colors now besides white; including, gray, black, driftwood, and more!

And for maximizing your views, you can't go wrong with glass!

Here is one of my favorite (and surprising) places to get fencing material - Wayfair! Recently, I purchased decorative synthetic panels for a balcony and pool shed area:
Locally, I recommend VinylCraft in Oxnard for your vinyl fencing needs - I had my grandma's white picket fence replaced with their fencing over 5 years ago and it still looks brand new:
And for all your installation needs, I highly recommend Neto's Fence. He's done numerous large and small jobs for me over the years:
